Jack Herer strain

What is Jack Herer?

The Jack Herer strain is a sativa-dominant hybrid with a Sativa/Indica ratio of 55:45. It is a nicely balanced strain that combines the cerebral effects characteristic of sativa plants with the physical effects that are typical for Indica plants. The high is euphoric and creativity enhancing. This strain gives a deep body relaxation while the mind stays clear and focused. As a bonus the effects are relatively long-lasting.

Jack Herer got its name from the marihuana activist Jack Herer, who argued that the cannabis plant should be legalised and used for medicinal and economic purposes. According to him, cannabis should be utilised as a renewable resource of food, fibre, fuel, paper and of course medications.

Where can you use Jack Herer for?

Jack Herer is an ideal strain for daytime use. It is very suitable for tasks that require both creativity and focus. This strain will give an energy boost and a clear but blissful high. When consumed alone, Jack Herer will stimulate creative thinking and contemplation. However, it is a good strain for social occasions as well. It will facilitate conversations as it has a mood-enhancing effect and makes consumers more talkative.

Medically, Jack Herer has been used to treat depression, stress, anxiety and related disorders like PTSD and bipolar disorder. It is also said to bring relief to those suffering from migraine, nausea and ADD or ADHD. CBD-levels are low. Nevertheless, some users report using this strain to alleviate pain.

What are the effects of Jack Herer?

The effects of Jack Herer come up quickly with an energising head rush. Like any proper sativa-dominant strain it has an uplifting effect on the mood. Jack Herer will also increase your motivation. The Indica-parts of this strain guarantee you don’t fly to high and keep your feet on the ground.

The Jack Herer strain causes a long-lasting and potent high, with THC-levels up to 23%. However, it is not the strongest strain available and therefore suitable for every-day use. In higher doses, however, this strain may cause dry eyes and a dry mouth. Like many sativa-dominant strains overdosing may lead to anxiety and paranoia.

What makes Jack Herer unique?

Jack Herer was bred in the 90s by Dutch cultivators. The strain probably was created by crossing a Haze hybrid, Northern Lights #5 and a Shiva Skunk. Because of its rich genetic background there exist different varieties of this strain, but they are all appreciated for the mental clarity and the creative, blissful high they provide. This strain has a spicy, pine-like smell and tastes like orange and lemon. The smoke is uniquely smooth and even pleasant to the lungs.
